Athens School of Fine Arts, Painting Workshop A: Graduates 2021-22-23
The “other Arcadia” Foundation and the A’ Painting Workshop of the Athens School of Fine Arts, under the direction of Professor Angelos Antonopoulos, present the exhibition “Graduates 2021-2023” at the “16 Fokionos Negri” project space from May 29 to June 29, 2024. The exhibition includes works by 19 graduates of the workshop, most of which were created during the academic years 2021, 2022, 2023, served as the core of their dissertation and, at the same time, the start of their career in art.
This exhibition marks anew the long-term cooperation of the “The Other Arcadia” Foundation with the School of Fine Arts, hosting in the “16 Fokionos Negri” for the seventh year, works by graduates of the School. This initiative aims to support young artists by cultivating the ground for interaction, promotion and communication with the visual arts scene of Athens.
The professor of the 1st Painting Workshop, Aggelos Antonopoulos, refers to the exhibition as part of “the workshop’s general practice, which aspires not only to a well-structured learning system but, in addition, to collaborations, interventions and actions, such as this one, that contribute to the School’s extroversion and its graduates’ future transition to the real environment of art.”
The exhibition is accompanied by a fully illustrated, bilingual (Greek – English) catalogue.
