3D Origami Kids’ Workshop
In the framework of the current exhibition of 19 graduates of the A’ Painting Workshop of the Athens School of Fine Arts at “16 Fokionos Negri” project space, on Saturday 15 June 2024 we invite children aged 7 to 12 years old to a 3D Origami workshop with the artist Maria Korompili.
Based on Maria Korompili’s work in the exhibition, we embark on a journey into the fascinating art of Japanese paper folding. During the workshop, children will have the opportunity to learn about the history of Origami and its newest 3D version, be introduced to the philosophy of this unique technique and from a simple rectangular piece of paper they will be able to construct animal forms, plant shapes and other mythological creatures and objects.
A handicraft, creative activity that develops imagination, concentration, patience while children discover the beauty and power of geometry.
The workshop materials come from discarded paper of magazines and newspapers reinforcing ecological awareness and the reuse of wasted materials in creative ways.
The workshop is part of the Certified Events/Activities program for the 2024: Year of Culture and Tourism between Japan and Greece.
Admission is free.
